Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

My anxiety had been through the roof

Am I alone in thinking something major is coming before the end of the year?

@a2 I know four people that were laid off effective today. None of them had any sign or warning.

@ew it depends on state law. They'll only do it if they're required to, otherwise they're not paying.

@e0 I thought it didn’t pay out for voluntary separation from the company, but involuntary still did. I’ll have to look though.

@bq company announced last year vacation payouts are over. Didn't you get the memo?!

@bq The policy was changed this year. Any accrued vacation time is no longer paid out, unless you live in a state that requires it.

For those who think they might get laid off before year end, save your vacation time, come in on Black Friday…do all you can to ensure you have as many vacation days saved as possible so the company has to pay them out.

I was laid off this month. And there will be more coming in my area. It su-ks. GK was clear in the ACT that these layoffs aren’t huge #s but when they affect you or your team it’s hard. I thought she was as clear and compassionate as she could be given the task at hand. I attribute my layoff to a couple of bad eggs / toxic leaders and my own stupidity giving these few ill intended people the benefit of the doubt. I think USB has a fantastic MC, vision, strategy and smart caring employees working hard for customers. I’m proud to have worked here!

@a2 Last year at this time saw a bunch of layoffs... they were done quietly.

@a2 I have but it's not FTEs. They'll usually opt to not renew contracts for offshore in December sometimes.

I absolutely agree!!! Stress level through the roof. I believe they aren't done and will probably see more soft layoffs all the way till end of next year

Been here for close to 10 years and have never seen layoffs after mid October.
