Thread regarding SAP layoffs

Next wave of layoff

Does anyone know when is the next wave of layoff coming and if they would be giving us severance package? I am sick of upper management

@14t it makes sense that they start with US then rollout the plan for the rest of the org.

Any news about Canada?

Things are so quiet that it certainly looks like calm before the storm.
One thing for certain is many roles will transition, new working models created, orgs merged and closed and people moved.
Layoffs are secret wrapped under NDAs at L levels but new job postings have started to show up in US for Forward deployed AI engineers and product managers who work directly with customers on AI adoption which will be the next big challenge to prove to the investors that customers are indeed using AI to make gains.

@mq ReOrg and Layoffs in the summer is a "smart" move because people are distracted by summer vacation and it's difficult to unite employees in the summer. Politics, for example, take the toughest decisions in the summer time for the same reason.

When people get back from vacation, all the ones that got laid off are gone...and management start a new year where people are also distracted by kids going back to school...etc.

@vd Depends. Due to their vulnerability, they might be protected in Germany or France.

In practice, the cruel and hostile board will find a way to sack anyone they want to.

I am not sure laws and regulations mean a lot to them.

@ef but a P27 would not be announced in June/July 2026, then it would be a P26....I'm confused. Larger programs were usually done in Q1 as far as I remember....

@kw no severance packages this time. They plan to get rid of employees using SIP and citing underperformance and how AI can do better.

@hg Absolutely no doubt that there are massive layoffs on the near horizon. Keep an eye on the WARN notices in the US. SAP will spin this as a positive thing, as in, efficiency from AI. Likely they are waiting for the new head of legal to start before making the announcement. In any case, I hope the severance packages are generous.

@hg My L3 said “let’s wait a week or two and see what happens” but didn’t provide any additional details. I suspect she is under NDA. That would align with your reference to end of June

Sap is profitable the stocks won’t go up but make no mistake sap is profitable . Sap Germany does not need any other Dev teams . India is there for development . So ask urself what what you can bring for sap . Else leave . Don’t waste time here . If you think you are bringing value then you won’t be here posting this

SAP needs more Indians, especially on the board.

Then the board would do the needful, and SAP would be the greatest company in the world.

@am You are spot on. CK and DA need to do something dramatic to goose the stock price and they completely rely on McKinsey for strategy. McKinsey playbook - mass layoffs, claim efficiency from AI, and give yourself raises and bonuses for being so clever. There is no product announcement that will have any impact on the stock price - it is now obvious. They cannot count on menacing people to leave, that is happening too slowly, so here comes P27 - and likely pretty soon.

@ca Hey bigot, are you scared because the Indians are better than you?

I hope SAP kicks you out.

@ca CK went to India to get more Indians onboard.

@OP if you are sick then leave. No one is stopping you. There is little chance that things will get any better at SAP anyway. Not unless we get rid of all the Indians.

look at the stock price YoY. Klein the mo--n will not survive 2027 if the stock does not significantly rebound. What is a guaranteed way to get a stock rebound? Layoffs.

There will be no layoffs. They will make the culture and compensation worse and worse, so that people leave voluntarily.

This saves them trouble with the works council or the states where people leave.
