@d6 They might be trying to force some of us out this way. But honestly, I think it's just another sign that PayPal doesn't give a f%ck about its employees or their health. Maybe that was different when Dan was here, but now they just see employees as a burden that costs money. The human being behind the employee doesn't seem to matter to them.
In May he said 2 to 3 months which is July/August. In July he said in the coming weeks. August is clearly the target. Maybe September if something unexpected delays them but theres no doubt that they are aiming for August.
@d6 there is no doubt that natural attrition is part of the plan. This is the cheapest way to do it and exactly why there's a timeline of 2 to 3 years. If you check the job board you can already see a massive difference. So many jobs have been removed. They wont hire, won't backfill and will wait for people to quit while quietly investing and improving AI to make up the difference. My bet is 7 to 10% layoffs at the most. Hold on to your hats!
@bz I honestly think they are just trying to ki-l morale to force people to quit so they don't have to pay out redundancies. They are doing everything in their power to wreck the mental health of the employees.
People should not be forced out by this behaviour. Hopefully layoffs are swift and done so in a decent fashion now.
They won't force me out without a package.
So glad I left. My anxiety was through the roof the last 6 months and I realized I was constantly worried about layoffs and it was iterally making me sick. I literally could not take it anymore. Miss my team but nothing more.
didn't he say it would be rought next week for employee?
The people on this thread who said this is fake/rumors…are you literate? I mean literally can you read? For that matter do you have ears? The CEO literally said it’s happening - you think he’s the one “spreading rumors”?
Great strategy you got there Enrique. Everyone is on edge. People have had it. Chaos reigns supreme anyway at this place and now everyone is living with the layoff sword of Damocles over their heads. Super great for productivity!
People are checked out. I’m checked out. Obviously big companies couldn’t give two sh*ts about us but again this isn’t exactly helping the company perform. I owe them nothing - and they’re getting nothing extra from me.
FYI… The lists already exist. No one needs to be a tryhard.
But hey subscribe to the AI TiP oF tHe dAy on Slack and eat AI a$$, tryhards.
@av completely agree with this. Weeks suggests it's starting in August. If he had of said months it could of been the rest of the year.
Either way they have destroyed morale in the whole company and I think people are just fed up waiting around to see if they are gonna be impacted or not.
let's think it through. if it was in September or October, the language would be the coming months, not weeks. in the coming weeks implies 2+ weeks but I think less than 4+ weeks. my vote is that it's absolutely in the month of August. it's so brutal to stress employees out this way.
"In the coming weeks"... thats not '2 weeks'. Coming weeks could be any amount of time, and coming weeks is only the start of the process. It could take many weeks or months before it filters through to certain departments
Enrique really sc--wed up earnings and the Stripe deal. Now the stock wants $40’s again.
"Thanks for the great quarter, keep working while we decide who's gonna be jobless soon"
Morale is at all time low
In coming weeks not 2 weeks
Pull the trigger already FFS, everyone is on edge and it’s peak chaos
i saw that as well makes it hard to work until i know so i wont.
Good they should just hurry up and get it over with
Ki-ling morale for everyone with non stop speculation
