There have been separations the last couple years, just not a mass culling. What we have seen are position eliminations via H1-B, LCC work, and PIPs. Individuals and small teams have been whacked. This seems to be the way Ford is reducing personnel at this time. If you are older and on the pension plan, your time is limited regardless of skill or performance.
I'm starting to worry that we've ben without layoffs for a bit too long for their liking.
