Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

To all those who were laid off today….

Just remember that your entire livelihood and career is worth about 1/700 or even more of the $74m discretionary executive bonus pool for 2025. This is split by 5 employees.

Your whole family and your dependents and kids futures are just a rounding error for the leadership team. Shoulda been a shareholder, su-ks to su-k 😂 😂 😂

@a8+1kaeyjvvt I agree what were they thinking? They let go of one person in our group and multiple people are shaking their heads as to how they came up with this person when we have a couple of dead weights still here...

If someone is interested in the figures for last year - for example for comparison of headcounts - that report is also available for download using the same url but using 2024 instead of 2025:

“ A market driven culture ensures retention of effective leaders.”

Union people can’t say that with a straight face. What is your retention policy? Based on seniority if I understand that. Can you say with a straight face the most senior people are the ones producing the most? Didn’t think so. Yes I’m jealous office workers don’t have a union. CWA doesn’t want to talk to us because we are “managers,” though we don’t manage anyone and aren’t any different really than anyone else doing a desk job.

Executive compensation is appropriate. A market driven culture ensures retention of effective leaders.

Our leaders aren’t effective though, what are you talking about?

To all the impacted dedicated and intelligent former employees, I wish you all nothing but the best. I understand the job market is the brightest at moment but don't give up. I saw some of the brightest folks were let go today and it was a sad moment.

@a8
Layoffs are based on age & years of service.... they are getting rid of the most expensive employees.

What Grouos? Legg again? That seems to be the main target always.

Knew several of the people who got notices today. I can assure you that these were not the people that we should be letting go. Sad day
