@b7 Our country is based on immigration. The people who wrote the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were immigrants. We are a nation of immigrants. Immigrants, undocumented or otherwise, are not the cause of this country's problems.

@ay Except all of those Europeans visiting America for the first time to watch the world soccer tournament! Many of them are shocked by how bad the media represents the USA as seeing is believing and they can now see for themselves just how great America is!

@b4 They aren't coming here because the LUV MERKA. They're coming here because we ruined the economies and infrastructures of their home countries and they have no choice but to make a go of it in one of the few places that hasn't yet been annihilated by US business practices.

@as Absolutely agree with you 100%! Unfortunately human nature, and all its frailties over time, has caused so many serious issues with today’s society. Thankfully, as you so eloquently described, the Founders also provided the means to self-correct these issues in most instances. I feel however that the major flaw of opening US borders allowing many millions to illegally overwhelm the country will put the self-correcting provisions to the test.

You may wanna let the millions who would (and have) crawled over broken glass to get here know of the disdain which you hold for your own country. I'm sure they'd gladly trade places with you.

@ay except for the 20-30 million illegal immigrants in the country today. It's so unwelcoming and desirable we have to build a wall around the country.

these types of questions amaze me. are you new to the company? It has always been the case at WF that if the holiday lands on a Saturday you get a floating day, if lands on Sunday they give you Monday. While many companies give you the Friday if it lands on Saturday WF does not. If you want Friday off put in a request for it, you should see an allocation of 8 hours under floating. You should always use your floating holidays and 2 personal holidays early in the year because of you don't and you leave the company you won't get paid for them.

@ac Yeah, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are pretty cool, especially the Bill of Rights. What is particularly noteworthy about the Constitution is that the framers recognized that they had blind spots, gaps in historical knowledge, personal biases and prejudices, so they created a Constitution that could be amended to account for these shortcomings. But the problem with the country is not its founding documents, but the alacrity with which we violate or selectively enforce them. Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton et al. would be alarmed by the nation's collective abandonment of reason, skepticism, evidence-based critical reasoning and curiosity in favor of obedience, intellectual dishonesty, unthinking tribalism, and laziness. So while the nation's founding documents are definitely an achievement worth celebrating, our abandonment of the traits that brought them into existence is something to mourn.

American Independence Day on the 4th of July, 250 years ago. was such an amazing achievement at the time that our forefathers, signers of the Declaration of Independence, did not even realize what they had created. The greatest country ever known to mankind and the only one in the world today that the rest of the population on the planet wants to join!
God Bless America!

Markets will have a shorter trading day and close early. Since the markets are technically open, you will have to work unless you take a personal or floating holiday...except for me because I was displaced.
