Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

Things are getting weird….

Has anyone else had constant org changes, and it’s not all adding up? As we approach the next layoff round, it’s getting very eerie around here. I’m a bit scared. However, it also doesn’t make sense to do all these org changes only for us to be laid off. I can’t make sense of it.

Span and control is in full effect - letting go of managers, re-fitting management of teams to put more reports to a single manager. Agentic AI will displace a lot of roles and eventually management
