Q4 bonus

My bonus posted today. $925 after taxes. What a joke. That's less than 20% than others on my remaining team. It also is half of my Q3 hold back. They really screw you after being laid off

Heard the discrimination lawsuit has teeth...

Rumor has it that older white people were the only group targeted in the last layoff this summer. White women over 40 were the largest group let go reassigned based on head count. In other words white women over 40 were not the largest group let go... — read more

Oracle denies unemployment claims!!!

I was part of a significant WWOPS RIF in February. I am finally eligible for my unemployment benefits, yet Oracle is now claiming I was dismissed for performance - a total fabricated lie. Beyond belief that a corporation so greedy now wants to... — read more

This company-wide all hands meeting on Thursday, what else could it possibly mean? No one remembers anything like it before. They wouldn't do something so big just for SC leaving. My bet is: Larry needs to escape with his ego intact. Oracle lost the... — read more

Don't expect anything to change any time soon

Oracle long ago shifted to playing defense because they could. They have a large flow of support dollars flowing in every year, so they are looking to just protect that. They wait until a new market is proven and then use their stacks of cash to go... — read more

O vs MSFT

So MSFT just announced that they are laying off 4,000 employees, the same number that Oracle has laid off since 6/1/2017, yet there is a significant difference here. MSFT had the decency and maturity to make a public announcement; oracle never does... — read more

Oracle in tough spot going forward

IBMs Cloud, like most of IBMs products, is pieced together and disjointed. Oracle is already trying to rewrite what they rolled out, so anyone who jumps onboard now will likely be on an obsolete platform going forward. In addition, IBM and Oracles... — read more

Cloud Sales Reorg (MSFT)

Just saw this in my feed - Microsoft is doing exactly what we've done - they are consolidating and reorg-ing sales teams to put more emphasis on the cloud. They do not know what's the impact yet, but I am sure they are underestimating how profound... — read more

Current sales model at Oracle wont work

Got my last check yesterday. There are a lot of good people still at Oracle, but there are far more that have left. Frankly, Oracle has been losing good people since Hurd was introduced into leadership in 2010. The new model with OD driving sales... — read more

Some Managers Were Not Fit

Some of the managers we know didn't want to stay. Sadly they are not fit and need help with people skills. So the moral of the story is stay or learn. Universally it's the same as they stay. Currently there is a brain drain of smart leaders. Kind of... — read more

Thanks for the "bonus" Oracle

My advice; leave Oracle, and don't Look back

"In 2016, Amazon (AMZN), Microsoft (MSFT), and Google (GOOG) collectively spent $31.5 billion, the majority of which went on to build data centers. In comparison, Oracle spent a meager $1.7 billion on increasing its cloud data center capacity last... — read more

Oracle loses America's Cup
