Oxy had a great chance of boosting company morale by implementing WFH permanently first amongst it’s peers. They could have been first to attract top talent and get the Company back on it's feet. They had a decision to make, and a year to plan for... — read more
No new layoff rumors?
Is there any new rumor about layoffs but that it wasn’t made up by some entropy lover? So, no one has any info on whether there will be any major cuts soon or not? Judging by the atmosphere only, there is enough tension as if there could be cuts... — read more
Why are people surprised or disappointed every time we have layoffs?
This is far from a uniquely Oxy thing. This is the way the entire corporate world functions. Everything is about one thing and one thing alone - profit. If they can find somebody to do the same job for less money, be it here or overseas, every... — read more

News on big oil spending.
Seems like the news is reporting oil companies are preferring to send money back to stockholders rather than sinking it into drilling new wells. Where is the Oxy dividend to stockholders? The only one getting money from the company is WB. Bonuses... — read more

Ways this company can survive?
When you consider its debt and unstable oil prices, the way this company is managed, the growth of mediocrity in the workforce, the future does not look promising. Has Oxy completely lost direction? How prepared is the company for future challenges?... — read more
OXY is not doing anything to be attractive to a new generation of talented people?
OXY had a great opportunity to seize the moment and make work from home a full time option for its staff and use it as a powerful tool for recruitment and talent retention (which we know is struggling right now). It would obviously differentiate OXY... — read more
Think outside the box
I know quite a few people who are still at Oxy and O&G in general because they don't think their skills are transferable outside of this field. That couldn't be more wrong. If you think outside of the box, you'll see there are plenty of jobs you can... — read more
Quarterly Conversation Q1 2021
Any feedback from today's call? I am glad to see no rush to lay people off. See BHP and others last week. Horrendous. Oxy keeps rolling. I am happy to see where we are going as a company. New initiatives, old initiatives wrapped under new names... — read more

Congratulation on a new record! It took 55 minutes for VH to mention diversity and inclusion and marginalize all of our colleagues. Well done VH.
Any actual fact based defense of Oxy forthcoming?

Oxy hybrid work schedule
Can’t believe Oxy has resorted to this stupid hybrid work schedule. It has nothing to do with covid anymore. If you really want a strong workforce then you want people who believe in the company and are willing to be in the office 4 and 1/2 days a... — read more

Rumors of COP, PXD and OXY merger
Seeing similar talk of a merger between OXY, COP and PXD all over their layoff sites as well. Pretty scary or exciting if this is true depending on how you look at it.
MERGER!!!
ConocoPhillips and PXD are both in talks to merge with us! $32 per share value all stock being discussed. Finally some job security (if you do your job!)
Looks like one needs to say "yes" more often
Is that the only way here to get to promotion? As hard as I worked, I still haven’t gotten a promotion, and I know people who have been much less engaged and got it without a problem. What's the catch? I can’t and don’t want to be a yes person... — read more

We understand Oxy has a lot in common with a very large telecomm/ex media company
It seems they have taken on a large debt and then have or will soon sc--w the shareholders out of their dividend. Don’t ever believe it if a CEO says we will preserve the dividend.
June 1st
June 1st marks return to work and hurricane season as well. I am sure this hurricane of employees to office will flood our coffers to the brim. What y’all think ?
