Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Is Oxy still inclusive of experts?

Please don't get me wrong, I am always for inclusiveness and diversity. However, it seems to me that the company has become the least inclusive for professionals. As if everyone else is more welcome here.

Why didn’t the board of directors stop this acquisition. They are just as much to blame. Carl had it right and hopefully the board going forward will not get involved in deals like this ever again.

If given a choice between Oxy and Bitcoin, I’d invest in Bitcoin - less risky!
Why less risky? One reason is Bitcoin can never grossly overpay for an acquisition because of its stupid CEO’s inflated ego!

Everybody is replaceable, eventually. Oxy doesn’t favor expensive experts (unless you come from Apache) and willing to give young folks 3 to 5 years of trial and error, unless they leave earlier. I feel Oxy is already diverse but lately the trend of females in power has increased. White middle to late career folks here are scarcest.

Many of the experts have left or retired and they are choosing replacements very carefully. In many cases Oxy lost people whose skills and experience cannot be replaced easily.
