Frac hands, have that CDL ready

They keep saying that the closer to the well you are, the safer... not true. Halliburton paid for your CDL, so if the inevitable happens, use it. You don't want to be on a flex board. It's essentially the same as a temp agency. You sit at home until... — read more

Halliburton history lesson 101. Halliburton WILL lay you off.

Halliburton has always operated with no regard for its employees. Over hire to get the work done than boot everyone immediately when they don't need them. Now they are even letting go of their core employees. Get out, and don't ever come back.

Slowly picking people off and starving people out. It's officially a bust folks. I'm still working for big red but it's a question of not if, but when it will end! Good luck to everybody.

Oklahoma folks who have already been hit: What type of unemployment benefits are you getting? Did your severance package affect your unemployment benefits? Were there any types of retraining opportunities offered? Did any of you draw out your 401k... — read more

Halliburton Could Handle This Better!

You would think that Halliburton could be a little more humane about how they do this. Most decent companies offer services to help their laid off employees with services to help them find other jobs. Usually when a company this large has a big... — read more

Layoff Formula

The layoff procedure has taken just about every personal aspect out of the equation. TAMS (or maybe even higher up) are given a list of all of their employees listed by employee ID number and they are required to fill out a sheet with a bunch of... — read more

What's going on?

Only time will reveal what this really is. Shale Drilling + Renewables + Environmental Laws + Fuel Efficient Vehicles + Complicated Geopolitics did not factor into the supply/demand equation in the past. Oil prices might recover quickly, but they... — read more

There is no violation of WARN!

WARN requires a reduction of the LOCAL work force greater than 30%. To simplify, that has to be more than 30% of the workforce in each camp, not company wide. You can rest assured that the HAL legal staff are on high alert. Every name for every round... — read more

Not all job losses were market conditions.

Sperry Canada self destructed in 2014 and 2015 wasn't a year to try and recover. Half of the jobs lost weren't related to the market conditions, half were customers fed up with Sperry and took their business elsewhere.

Today another day at DMC. What a pile of shit this place is!

Another round expected today for the weekend crew. Got word calling for more police and more security on stand by. If Halliburton workers are getting cut, then they need to cut security and their cleaning staff too. Anybody else agree on this shit?

So cruel

Did anyone else get offered a job and do your background checks, take the drug test, get a start date, and sign all your paperwork; only to have them call and say they aren't hiring anymore? All of this after you turned down other job offers?! Ugh!!!

Is it 5000 employees and consultants? Or just 5000 employees plus an unspecified number of consultants.

A year ago they said there would be 6400 layoffs for the quarter, or 8%. of the workforce, but there was in fact much more. This time around they are saying 5000 layoffs, and surprise surprise it is 8 percent of the workforce. Does anyone beleive it... — read more
