The layoff procedure has taken just about every personal aspect out of the equation.
TAMS (or maybe even higher up) are given a list of all of their employees listed by employee ID number and they are required to fill out a sheet with a bunch of mostly number based questions/questions.
All the numbers are tabulated and the bottom page spits out a number and the lowest (or maybe highest) numbers are related to the employee numbers and those people are the ones to let go.
It isn't necessarily performance based and it definitely isn't personality based. I know several people who got let go in the recent layoffs who were top contributors to their groups and friends to everyone.
