Has any one heard word of when Greenville could see the potential layoffs? How many ? Engineering /manufacturing??

Sales are taking a major hit.

The reason everybody works for GE (Engineers and Manufacturing ME's) is to make a product that makes a profit. If you are negatively impacting GE's bottom line by creating costly science projects for R&D Testing then you need to be looking for... — read more

What happened in Pakistan?

I've heard that a GE employee was detained in Pakistan before he could return to the US. This supposedly had something to do with a major gas turbine malfunction.

Just Remember

Keep sipping the Kool-aid. Customers determine our success, Fastworks and Pivot. Reality check. It's all about the dividend and share price.

Retiree Concerns

Retirees are concerned as well: It is not just it's employees that will suffer it is the retirees as well. We already had a letter sent out to us that makes us wonder if our pensions will disappear. Big money seems to be the trend. I wonder how... — read more

The Road Ahead of Us

Salaried Employees Are the Primary Target for Layoffs

Salary, as always, will be the primary target. Hourly cuts will be unavoidable as cost increases and design failures impact sales. Adding rooftops only compound the reduced work volume in each plant. So yes, read the writing on the wall. Don't be... — read more

The Ultimate "Layoff?"

Just saw on CNN that Immelt is "stepping down." I'm sure his golden parachute will make it far, FAR less challenging for him than it was for the thousands of us.

GE Digital's horizontal organization shell game

This is a prime opportunity for GE to "reorganize staffing" and involuntarily layoff employees due to their "role being eliminated." GE can pick and choose to terminate the older and higher salaried employees and justify it by "role elimination." If... — read more

Layoffs are in GE's business plan

GE Layoffs should not be a surprise to anyone. It is well known that layoffs are a standard business model for GE. Always has been. Always will be. GE has the next few layoffs scheduled while they are in process of chopping current heads.

Watch the FieldCore Model

Keep an eye on the new FieldCore organization. They are laying off full time field employees and requiring them to reapply as contract hires at a low ball pay wages. This is another cost-out and promotes competition that could assign a younger... — read more
