Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Layoffs are in GE's business plan

GE Layoffs should not be a surprise to anyone. It is well known that layoffs are a standard business model for GE. Always has been. Always will be. GE has the next few layoffs scheduled while they are in process of chopping current heads.

It is not just it's employees that will suffer it is the retirees as well. We already had a letter sent out to us that makes us wonder if our pensions will disappear. Big money seems to be the trend.I wonder how Warren Buffet handles his shares of GE now !

Salary, as always, will be the primary target. Hourly cuts will be unavoidable as cost increases and design failures impact sales. Adding rooftops only compound the reduced work volume in each plant. So yes, read the writing on the wall. Don't be complacent. Save money and protect your families financial future by making career moves on your own timetable instead of waiting to pad senior executive bonus payments with their timetable.

Within GE Power there are small groups that always seem to survive the layoffs. They are very tight "buddy" groups that know how to play the game with upper management. It is difficult to be included in these groups. But once you are "in" you are somewhat safe. They politically protect each other by having the ear of management and throwing non-group members under the bus to meet executive layoff numbers. These groups are well known by most employees. But even these groupies are threatened as GE Power struggles with massive monetary losses, design/product failures, and declining sales.

GE Power is planning additional layoffs. Several different time periods have been discussed. June and July are the next wave being discussed. More expected in September.

Chop, chop GE and be sure to stow away more capital for another interesting PR video debut at yoga parties, featuring top artists.

This is sure to lure in the fresh meat for the future churn... now that pensioners are on their way out.

Like you said, always has been, always will be the way.... Rinse and repeat strategy.
