Ryan Lance is holding a town hall meeting September 14 in Bartlesville right in the middle of the layoffs. Is Ryan going to announce phasing out and closing of Bartlesville? It makes sense to centralize everything at the corporate center in Houston... — read more

We really should get rid of the 9/80
Ken Lueers (President Canada) forced to retire?
One of the few respectable leaders at CPC and COP. He always seemed like a softie, perhaps he isn't ruthless enough for current times. Or perhaps he cant bear to see what is going to happen to CPC in the next year?
You CAN still survive this lay-off with these simple steps
If you want to continue with your COP employment, then you need to adopt the new SPIRIT values that will make you a valued employee, and the least likely to be laid off EVER. S = Sycophancy P = Pedantic I = Incompetent R = Related I = Incestuous T =... — read more

New Canada President
Funny how the leader of the cost project, which sought to get rid of ex-pats, is becoming an ex-pat now. Makes no sense at all.
Dates for MCBU & Permian confirmed
I heard from two very reliable sources today that the MCBU and Permian layoffs will begin Monday the 12th and be completed by Thursday the 15th.
Canada numbers?
Someone mentioned in another thread 330, I have also hear 280. Which is it?
Layoffs are the first step but centralization of all corporate support services to corporate center and headquarters is next.
COP needs to cut additional costs by centralize all it's corporate support services to it's corporate headquarters in Houston. Even corporate R&D programs are better supported and funded the closer they are to headquarters. It appears that the... — read more
Gain IT skills and move out of Oil an Gas business

Micro managing, political correctness and Engineer's kill a great company. COP needs more business degrees and less engineers. Sad

I don't wish anyone to lose their jobs! It's all corporate bullshit! Executive and other management has seriously f---ed up.

Layoffs not about cost savings
This layoff is all about the appearance of cost reduction. The company could lay off every employee and not make up for the amount of money it's losing. They're just trying to bolster the stock price and analysts want to see blood.
