Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

THE PLAN

Notification of impacted employees will occur on the following days:

• Field leaders, field employees and Calgary leaders: Tuesday, September 13

• Calgary employees: Thursday, September 15, beginning as early as 7 a.m., for some teams

We will do everything we can to be respectful of those impacted and their colleagues.

• Please come into work at your regular time; you are not required to adjust your schedule.

• We ask that you clear your calendar and stay relatively close to your desk on the relevant notification day. This does not mean you can’t go to the washroom, get a coffee or get something to eat, but plan on leaving your workspace for no more than 30 minutes at a time.

• If you’re a field-based employee, please ensure that you are accessible by phone or are in close proximity to a field office.

• If you are scheduled to be on vacation during the notification day, please talk to your leader.

• If you are being impacted, one of your leaders will contact you to meet with them in a meeting room. Be prepared for a short discussion with your leader and an HR representative, who will provide you with details regarding your separation from the company. The leader and the HR representative will then bring in a Career Transition Advisor, introduce you, and then leave the room. The Career Transition Advisor will then talk you through next steps.

• All impacted employees are offered the opportunity to return to their desks for up to an hour to pack up their belongings, and say their goodbyes to their colleagues. I encourage you to remove all pictures and/ or personal information from your computer/company phone prior to September 13.

• Once the majority of notifications have been completed within individual teams, leaders will pull their teams together to outline who has left the organization and any changes within their specific teams.

1ndl - I'm not sh--ting my pants out of fear, it's an act of defiance. The pants, Joe Boxers, digested 12" cold cut trio are mine and the chair belongs to COP... You need not concern yourself with my plan.

Wow, 20% chance of a layoff and you plan to sh-- yourself? You don't sound fit to handle this industry.

knr, if you do, make sure it is one of those greasy or one that splatters everywhere including the floor! And if someone ask, "sh-- happens" or "what difference does it make"

I planned on purposely sh--ting my pants while sitting in my $1200 ergonomically engineered office chair.
