Unfortunately Cisco is no longer a tech hardware manufacturing firm. They are now an M&A geared organization. Along with those acquisitions come layoffs in order to make room for the new "talent" from the acquired companies. We saw it with... — read more
"Impact" - oh, the irony.
Weeks after thousands of employees were "impacted", 20,000+ Cisco Hunger Games survivors converge on Las Vegas for "Impact" - this year's iteration of GSX, or Sales Conference, or whatever. They will probably spend 25 million or more on drinking... — read more
Fast Tracked
I got laid off this past go around. Was let go on a Wednesday. Sulked Thursday and Friday. Applied for internal jobs the following Monday. Rehired withing 2 weeks, Cisco does fast track and I'm proof of it.
So much for being 'Fast Tracked'
After being recognized as a 20 year employee in May, I was devastated to be impacted by the LR on July 31. Chuck stated on the July 31 Cisco Beat that all hiring managers were to make it a priority to fill open reqs with impacted employees. ... — read more

Cisco RMAP....worse than regular employee insurance

What will Cisco look like as a company in five years time?
Most of us are far from satisfied with how things are panning out right now and the long-timers sure like to remember “the good old days”. One thing is for sure, the company is changing at a rapid pace. For better, or for worse, we are yet to see (... — read more
How many are still satisfied with their jobs at Cisco?
I'm talking about everything: pay, benefits, job security... I'm guessing a lot of people are here because of the lack of the third one, but the first two points are what's still keeping me here. What about the rest of you?
Changing the world while ruining employees' lives

Is Layoff Package from Cisco different if you are over 60?
Does anyone know if employees over 60 get additional items in their severance package from Cisco? I noticed that if you are over 50 you have access to post Cobra health insurance.
Who is next on the chopping block?
Who could be hit next? What locations? What departments? Are certain employees in more danger than other? In any case , it’s hard to think they’ll stop at this point.

"Internal Open Jobs"
So assuming that some portion of the Internal job postings are actually real (bigassumption)... Why are almost all of the job postings in big HQ locations like Richardson, RTP , SJ, SF, and NY, etc etc?
Anyone ever notice?
The CEOs of the world's top tech companies only take a $1 a year salary. Not Chucky.
Can you negotiate better payouts? Can you negotiate longer time to find an internal job? Or a direct placement?
