Your job is safe.....for the next 90 days. Then it's back to the normal binge (acquire companies) and purge (LR) cycle.

Haha, yea right. I call b—s— on this one. Family member recently passed and I had to have surgery myself shortly afterwards.
Got the 1 to 1 call on the day of my birthday. Didn't think anything of it. It 's just them checking in to make sure I am doing OK after surgery..... Nope it's time to pack and go somewhere else.
Keep up with your feel good b—s— Cisco while you are f—ing the resources that keep your a– afloat.
I was impacted at the end of February.
While my benefits were to officially end the end of March, due to the pandemic Cisco did the right thing and extended the salary and benefits through end of May.
But I do agree that the Bloomberg article was a bit misleading. They failed to mention the February LR as well as the impact to contract (red badge) employees.
I guess that statement about jobs are safe until after the crisis passes only applied to employees. I know of a team that slashed 60% of it's contractors last week.
Since they don't have to be reported, Chuck and the ELT can make promises that are technically true, but not protect everyone who works at Cisco. I guess the hourly cafe workers and housekeeping staff are more important than the technical talent Cisco brings in to supplement its employee workforce.
I guess, in the back of my mind, I knew his statements didn't hold true to everyone who worked at Cisco, just to some.
What about the people that were laid off in February? Chuck did give them 2 months extension on their layoff package, which was gracious; however, the job market will probably get worse before it gets better as companies start to realize they need to make cuts.
Chuck has a heart.
we literally just had a layoff a few weeks ago
He stated in an AMA recently that he was making no changes for 60 days. After that it's back to the Cisco people barbecue
Thank you Chuck, but if this Covid19 sticks around till December, are you going to keep your promise of no LRs?
