I find it interesting and revealing that although XOM has begun layoffs, it's the CVX employees that seem to be doing a far greater amount of sniveling and complaining. I guess that is a reflection of the people CVX hires. COP is laying off and their... — read more
Project Alpha ROM 1 Round 2 Question
We are going to get to apply to 4 positions. Of the positions available is there a limit on the number of employees that can apply? For example, if there is some generic job in GOMBU for a reservoir engineer can an unlimited number of employees apply... — read more
If Chevron management acted more like that of Apple, Starbucks, or Google, would the company be in better shape?
Seems like if CVX gave employees more freedom to challenge norms and be creative (rather than following a play book) the company would be better off. "Shut up and fall in line" seems to be the mantra for keeping your job at CVX.
A word of advice to management!
We don't envy you. You have a gargantuan challenge in your hands. But it was your doing that you have to undo! Good luck in that. But don't mess it up further. First of all, don't cut or eliminate the 8% 401k match. And don't cut or eliminate the... — read more

When will there be a ROM in SJVBU?
It is good to be aware of what is coming. Right now, there is a lot of complacency there.
Chevron has to go to trial for 9 billion settlement in Canada. Supreme Court rules 7-0 against Chevron.
This has finally come to a head and the money in on the plaintiff to win and take Chevrons assets. We have spent well over 2 billion to keep this out of court and lost. Rolling Stone had an interesting read on this case and Chevrons tactics. This is... — read more

companies will get more bang for the buck by cutting the steeper salaries that come with upper management
