The "free food" offered at meetings are a thing of the past (for at least 9 months now), perhaps with some exceptions for high-level executive meetings. However, there used to be many times that breakfast, lunch and snacks will be served in abundance. Sometimes, we would be treated to nice lunches off-site once or twice a month just after recurring meetings. Almost seemed we scheduled the meetings just to have lunch. Lol. ... But no more.

The Black Employee Network had a big feed approved in Covington. Can't get food for legit business but this was a party!
Keep in mind all those vendors who treat you out to ball games & wine and dine you, turn right around and charge Chevron with a 15% markup. Who is winning now? No such thing as a free lunch, pal.
Good one, Anonymous170965. Long live the life of graft. You scratch my back and I yours. Lol.
I enjoy free meals and tickets to Astros and Texans games just for doing business with select vendors. Lunch leftovers are for the SMEs without purchasing budgets
It's true they usually put the leftovers outside the conference room in the cafe/break area for everyone to eat, but that guy who went through the Outlook calendars trolling for lunch had the gall to actually stand in line while the team were serving themselves. Sometimes he had the audacity to cut ahead of the line to get the best fixin's. Lol.

No, I'm not overweight from all those weekly vendor meals. I'm a big man and very active too. I burn a lot of calories so I can keep up with the free meals. But I must say, more than half the vendors that take me to lunch are themselves overweight. Lol.
Anonymous169350 - I bet you are overweight with all those vendor meals in your belly
That story is true. He works overseas now, so perhaps now he pays for his own meals. As for me, my job has me going from one meeting to another everyday. I occasionally get a free lunch on the company's dime. It was almost par for the course for years. At least twice a week, I get invitations to dine out during lunch from vendors and contractors that are be holding to me. I love it and try not to miss out on any invitation. It's part of my job as far as I am concerned.
Lighten up! There's nothing wrong with someone eating leftover food from a meeting. It in likelihood it's just going to be thrown away anyway. Going through people's Outlook calendars seems pretty strange and a waste of company time, but there's nothing wrong with making a lunch out of leftover meeting food if that's what someone wants to do. Would you rather see the food go into a landfill?
Have some pride, pay for your own food. I enjoyed many company paid meals, but I would never take an advantage of it
@Anonymous169294 - that's sick
Many groups used to provide buffet-style lunches or sandwiches for almost every team meeting that lasted through 11:30. I remember there was a guy in my building that never packed a lunch to take to work. For the last 3-5 years he was 80% successful in securing a free meal everyday from sponging off another team meeting's extra food. Later I learned his secret from someone who knew him well... each Monday, Wednesday and Friday, he would scan the Outlook calendars for certain team leaders and managers to see who were holding meetings that would be serving lunch. Lol.
