When all you know is Chevron

You become more vulnerable, less independent, more anxious, less entrepreneurial, more insecure, less curious. EOI aside, the real questions are: Can I really survive outside with what I know? Do I really know how to manage a project? Do I have... — read more

Is anybody safe?

I wish I could be as confident as some of my coworkers who are not worried at all about potential layoffs. They think they are safe. They have years with the company, experience, knowledge...and they believe that makes them untouchable. I have the... — read more

Focus on Your Work

All. How many people have been told to not worry about the layoffs and "focus" on your work? The people that are making those statements are out of touch. They know they are safe just like the officials telling everyone that they need to stay at... — read more

Scaled agile framework anyone?

A horrible process that should not be able to continue at current oil price. Before COVID, these 2 day planning meetings would book up all the rooms in 1500 and 1400.

EOI = severance + what?

Does it include extra 2 months pay for Warn act or does it mean you have to work extra 2 months before exit? Does it include vacation payout or do you need to use your vacation before exit?

Expat Positions Reduced

Any news on expat positions being reduced? I’m all for expatriates but at times like this, it’s fair to see expat positions significantly reduced. This potentially could save extra regular payroll positions.

Permian Basin Production Cutbacks

Here is a cut and paste from a Bloomberg article this evening. Bottom line is that cutbacks = layoffs, in case some of you can't figure that out. Marathon oil cut 200 employees (10%) last Friday. (Bloomberg) – On the same day OPEC-style oil... — read more

CBU EOI

Good luck everyone. The EOI is certainly not a match for the US payroll employees. Might as well roll the dice and see what the selection event brings. HR must live in a different universe with the inability to do a cost benefit analysis. Why would... — read more
