What if DL got “the email”?

Wouldn’t it be fun if DL got “the email,” was read a generic bs letter by a stranger, then given 10 minutes to gather a few things and get out forever? Pick those boxes up at the curb next week, son!

Layoff notices have arrived

Not unexpectedly, I just got my notice and so did two other colleagues from my department. Hope the damage isn’t too bad for everyone else today.

Adverse Selection ~ It's Real

Hard to defend a company run by 'leaders' whose convoluted approach to workforce reduction amounts to an inexorable process of adverse selection and a resulting employee base with ever-diminishing capabilities. In other words, although layoffs... — read more

Liqudity Issues

So why hasn't pursued an industry or private equity partner? Chk has a scale problem as it cannot adequately service the assets. Case in point is Haynesville. No drilling and just sitting there declining with value diminishing. This asset is... — read more

PRB Problems

Is drilling going to just flush money down their holes and hardly produce anything? Why has that asset got so much capital allocation? They only thing they produce is excuses.

Quit paying bonuses money problem solved

Problem solved most companies cut pay and quit paying bonuses when things get tuff but Chesapeake keeps paying bonuses to worthless workers upwards 25,000 or more for long term employees and 13,000 and less for 10 years or less employees. And Has... — read more

Ahead of Schedule

Looks like my (numerous) predictions on this board that CHK would be a penny stock before the end of the year have been realized ... a couple of months early (and yes, lots of people laughed). Next Stop: Delisting Way to go, "cream of the crop"... — read more

What profile of employees will be targeted the most?

We all know that by now the question is how big will the layoffs be, rather that will they happen? I believe that everybody is aware that things will get real ugly and that we all have to brace for impact. Has anyone heard any rumors about what... — read more

How low can she go? We are at $1 now.

I think every % below $1 should be a percentage of payroll/personnel eliminated. In 2 day we will be at about $.75 so that would be 25% of payroll we need to reduce. A 25% payroll cut could be DL by him self or everybody in Haynesville which ever... — read more

I hope my name is on the list!

Heck, I'd even volunteer if there was a way to do it (is there?) For as long as there is a semi-decent severance package I'd be happy to leave this place.

Not looking forward to the following weeks
