Godspeed to all affected in this round

To the rest of us - well, we all know none of us are safe. Keep updating resumes, always scout for better opportunities, have some money saved if you can, and never let them just jump you.

Worried about leaving

Severance weeks

Anyone hear what the Houston Non-notice number of weeks is? I'm a remote worker and want to compare to ensure they classified me correctly.

Expressing Discontent

The last week has been awful. Feels like everyone and everything in the company is being destroyed. Management are staying silent. They are all afraid to push back on those above. Teams are being ripped apart and there will be clear financial harm... — read more

Layoffs started?

Quite a few US-based people have been reporting being laid off since yesterday. I’m seeing it both online and hearing from colleagues. I can’t say if mass layoffs started, or if it's just a coincidence I’m hearing a lot about it all of a sudden. All... — read more

Does everybody on your team feel disengaged?

AIG seems like a completely different company now compared to several years ago. It feels like there’s only negative feedback and isolation these days. Does anyone work in a department that still puts in effort and truly cares about their people?... — read more

Layoffs in Staff Counsel

Just a reminder, the entire Staff Counsel region experienced layoffs yesterday. Everyone in that department has been let go, and their last day will be on October 24th. It's likely that there will be more layoffs in the future.

LAYOFFS

Someone from upper management gave me a hint that layoffs are indeed coming and they have people lined up and we should have a plan in place.

This place has become a hot mess

Is there anybody actually knowing the work they are supposed to do? All the smart decisions are coming home to roost.

2 weeks to next round of VERP departures

Fellow VERPers

Checking in on my fellow VERPers. One week post VERP for me and it has been fantastic. How you doin’?

Was AIG Next mentioned in PZ's call

When we had the Q1 call PZ said a lot more about the cuts with AIG Next than what we had heard internally up to that point. Those of us expecting to be in the next round have been waiting for the Q2 call. Did anyone hear anything relevant in the... — read more

So many have mentally checked out

I don't know many people who still care about their jobs here. It's mostly just folks doing the bare minimum as they're searching for new jobs or waiting for retirement. I can't blame anybody, considering how AIG has been in the last several years. I... — read more
