Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

We honestly don’t need Accenture people

Based on my previous experiences with people consultancies embed in companies, they are as useful for a particular job as the decorative plant over there in the office corner. I will retire and still not understand what consultancies are for, why anybody is paying them for anything, and why on earth would anyone want someone who has no clue about the company and job in place of an experienced and established employee. I’m sure they don’t come cheaper. I’m also sure they bring nothing to the table.

Bloody ridiculous… country regulators need to make it a condition of operating licence in a country that a multi national organisations hire staff from within the country. The big organisations already take profits offshore at least they should employ local people to put something back

Accenture uses AI to cover up for their shortcomings. AI has its applications and it's a fine tool, but the overuse of AI will damage companies in the long term. Mark my words.

Anyone happen to notice in one of PZ’s last press releases he listed AI as part of AIG’s future. Accenture is HEAVILY invested in AI.

AIG - Accenture has a nice ring to it. Don’t ya think?

Pit fall is spot on, Accenture folks have no clue, they are very rigid and mechanic and lack all critical thinking. Once it seems they grasped the business, they'll leave and a new person will come to be trained.

I see the resulta of all this outsorcing, RISO office makes random payment to wrong beneficieries without a clue, "claims operations" from Bulgaria put hundreds of thousands of USD of reserves or pagments on claims without any authority. In any case don't be scares to train them because "they will steal your job" ,they don't have a clue about what insurance is all about and eveytime one leave all the knolwedge is lost

True, and if you do hire consultants, why do u need an Executive Leadership Team that gets paid millions of dollars each. Aren't they there for their leadership and skills?

I don't count Petey in the above bc he loots in the 10's of millions, a whole other level

My section has been smashed by AIG Next, and then they've gone and hired extra staff at Accenture to pick up the gap.

It's clear we are training them and eventually we'll be gone. I'm not doing it.

We just aren't going to send stuff to them.

We don’t need our finance teams either. Me and my team sat on a call with the Fin Lines team the other day and I just couldn’t believe these people were hired by AIG.

It's all about money. Since they operate out of India they are paid pennies on the dollar compared to US employees . The company doesn't care that the work is shoddy. They just want to save money
