No point in fighting for your job anymore. There are so many layoffs, AIG is not even functional anymore. It's a sinking ship. Best to focus your energies on finding a new job instead of trying to hang on to a place that will never appreciate you and will always find a way to short you in compensation. You will always be an expendable number to them and nothing more.
Working for AIG has no bias whattosever... Instead interviewers can just skip questions like "are you willing to resign from your current company?" Or "why are you looking for another job?". Anyone knows that Aig is a total mess but also that it's a good training field because you really need to be resilient to make things work here (just the fact that you haven't been layied off yet means that you have some value)
If you are AIG there is a reluctance in hiring. The AIG management has created a bad vibe repo. They feel working for AIG is sleeping with a wh--e and don’t want to hire you.
The nice thing about AIG, is once you get back in the market, you’ll realize virtually 75% of the hiring managers you talk to also worked for AIG at one point in time. It’s not so much a “blackmark” but rather a combat medal.
