Layoffs set for Oct/Nov have been moved up to this month.

I'm in Tech. The Layoffs planned for Oct/Nov have been moved up to this month. So its either the 22nd or 29th for a large displacement. They are trying to tie up the 2023 budget and lock it down by end of this month. We'll see.

Layoffs but hiring contractors

They are going through massive layoffs but they continue to hire contractors. I was approached by a headhunter this week for a two-year contract in IT but they are currently laying off workers in IT who could do this job. Nuts!

Rehire process

Is the interview process for returning to wells ( after 1.5 years elsewhere) different than the “normal” interview process ? I have an interview scheduled but it’s with one person as opposed to a panel (although I worked with the person before... — read more

Collaboration

Will someone.. anyone PLEASE collaborate with me!!?? I am going crazy in this office and no one speaks to anyone and we’re all doing our own thing. Please talk to me!

Anyone heard updates about RTO for tech?

We come in 2-3 days a week at most and every time I’m in the office it seems totally deserted. Maybe 1/3 of seats filled on a busy day and that’s generous. Wondering about any talks of increasing RTO going into 2023. Seems with attrition the way it... — read more

I'm not sure why shareholders love Charlie

He didn't do anything for the stock despite his continued efforts to artificially pump it up through continued cost cuts (translation: layoffs). Not only did he not bring it up, but it's also lower than it was when he joined. I know he couldn't have... — read more

Great way to earn extra cash from unused PTO.

Here’s how it works. Your WFH address is Montana for a year. Never take PTO. Change your WFH address to a low tax state like Florida. HR will then cash out your unused PTO. Finally, change your WFH address back to Montana and repeat process. — read more
