This Union is pathetic
The failure of the Union heads to resolve this matter is going to cause a lot if hardships on its members, most of which did not really want to walk anyway. How is that income going to ever be made up? The answer is that it won't, just like the... — read more

Union Is A Business Too
It's really quite simple math. The Union is dependent on the dues it collects. If the workers are not working then the dues are not being collected, and if there is a lock out, that is bad for the Union...in the long run.
Coincidence???
Its been over a week now since the passing of Prince and STILL no word coming from the Frankie Muniz camp. Not even a peep. All the major players in Hollywood have shared their favorite Prince moments or stories. Yet Frankie Muniz is being... — read more

Last, Best & Final Offer - Impasse
The Implementation After Impasse Strategy Generally, once an employer believes that the parties are at an impasse, it will present its last, best and final offer to the union. An employer should elicit from the union whether or not it will recommend... — read more

Down 8 pounds since the strike began. Walking in a circle carrying a sign all day is doing me good.
Might also be that I was short 3 days of pay last week and can't afford to get double cheese and pepperoni on my pizza anymore. On a good note I can look down and see the tip of my dick sticking out from under my belly for the first time in 15 years.
7.5% raise over the length of the contract seems low.
I'm non union and got 12% increase just this year based on my performance. I've always got over 7% a year for the last 15 Years. Are Unions just for lazy non performers that want guaranteed raises for not being the best? If you are guaranteed... — read more
The only ones winning this strike are the Union Leaders
They still get their usual paycheck and this strike does nothing but give them their five minutes of fame. If they were doing anything worth a crap there would have been more than one discussion since this strike started. We can blame it on the... — read more
CWA burned me. They will burn you too
I'm no longer in the industry but was a card carrying proud member of the CWA. I paid my monthly dues. I went on strike. I wore red. I lost my job. The union masters at the top traded 30 call center jobs in "negotiations" to save 5 IR jobs. I took it... — read more
Meanwhile...the draft goes on with Verizon branding all over it and nobody in the country gives a hoot about the strike.
All they care about is that some kid took a bong hit and another can't cook.
Legal Options for union folks to make some fast cash
Panhandling. Relying on the deep pockets of others is a long union tradition. Instead of shaking down a company, shake down a passerby. Multi Level Marketing company. Amway, 31, Tupperware, etc. Turn a small initial investment into a repeat sales... — read more
Think about it.
A two year contract means we do all this again in two years. Maybe at that point the timing will be better for Verizon! (or whoever else we may be working for) Forced transfers now only to a state where you can "drive home" after work? Well that was... — read more

CWA District 1 response
Apr 28, 2016 Today, Verizon presented what it described as its “last, best, and final offer” to your bargaining teams in Philadelphia and Westchester. Unfortunately, their “last and best” was little more than the “same old bullshit.” Here’s what they... — read more

What is an acceptable negotiated offer for CWA?
I support the union's stance if you are not satisfied with the offer. I've looked through the stand up to Verizon site but I don't see specifically what a satisfactory negotiated offer would be. What specifically are your non-negotiables? I don't... — read more

without the CWA this job is not worth having
