Goodbye Hinkle

Two yard jobs staying, the traffic is going to Albina and to Nampa. The MTO in Nampa quit. The managers in Hinkle are getting relocated, others are just out of luck. Should crater out Portland and Nampa

What’s the deal with UP hiring?

See a lot of job postings from UP, and from what I’ve seen many of them are for positions that got hit hard by layoffs. Is it some kind of sick joke or has their genius plan been all along just to simply replace long-timers with cheap youngsters... — read more

Palestine hit

We did not see it coming, they told us our shop was not going to be affected - 30 carman furloughed (laid-off) from Palestine Car Shop today.

I Hate Union Pacific

Tell us they are going to furlough us then don’t come through with it. Oh that’s right standard Union Pacific, can never keep there word.

Railroad Stock

Should I use the severance they gave me and buy railroad stock? Sounds like the class ones are going to be giving to investors
