yeah a strike is pretty pointless. president would overturn it in same day just like obama did last time.
basically, the correct way to walk off is to get another job then quit UP and then walk off the property.

What does "walk off" mean?
If you're talking about a large enough number of people voluntarily not coming to work, there is a number of ways that can be construed as voluntary self-termination (otherwise known as "quitting"). This accomplishes nothing that taking vacation and then giving notice upon your return doesn't.
If you're talking about an organized strike then good luck with that. The railroad unions are the weakest they've been in their history (public sector unions are much stronger by comparison). Also, the Railroad Labor Relations Act sets a number of constraints on labor agitation. The railroads will almost ceartainly litigate in the event of an organized strike, and not only will they probably win, but they may even score a prescedent setting ruling if the case makes it to the circuit court level or higher, thanks to the federal courts being packed with conservative jurists over the last two years.
