Has anyone who got laid off been able to collect PA unemployment?

I'm in PA and was laid off in December with a severance. I was able to collect unemployment.
Yeah, happened to someone I knew. Just got to appeal it.
These sleazy prcks tried to say I resigned… went through unemployment office, presented my case and got approved for unemployment…. Got the feeling when I was going through the process that this was a common BNY move….
Unfortunately, no. You won’t qualify to also collect unemployment benefits in PA because you received a severance package.
Us old timers tried warning you all when the company wanted to move from a supplemental package to a severance model.
Just a side comment, if the Bank is doing this and hiring any offshore labor, the bank should pay the unemployment. Not taxpayers.
