I was reading the severance agreement. There is a lot of verbiage around not being able to sue Oracle for age discrimination. Does anyone know if there are any class action lawsuits regarding this ? I don’t see any but was curious since yin give up your rights down the road.

Its boilerplate, but if someone was discriminated against for age or race or s-x or disability or veteran status, that statement means nothing. I worked in compliance and HR for 30+ years.
Hire a lawyer to look it over.
@dv no was just curious more than anything. It’s hard to prove anyway. Most of the folks I know that were RIF old. I could care less about a lame severance from Oracle.
Face the facts OP, you let yourself become obsolete as you aged and collected paychecks. Now it seems like age discrimination but in reality you probably just stopped bringing any valuable skills to work with you.
OP, Take the money and move on with your life. Do you have specific proof of age discrimination in your case? If not I doubt that you are going to find some random lawsuit that is going to make you rich. More likely some lawyer will get rich and you will have forfeited your severance.
@be A lot of that age discrimination verbiage is mandated by law.
Unaware of any class action suits. But I don’t believe for a moment the disclosure of decision units, titles and ages they sent are a truthful representation.
My last day was 9/17. But haven’t signed the documents yet. I was just amazed how much it referenced age discrimination.
Hmm. What was your last day? I don't get the severance agreement until Nov 13 (my last day), and folks who have a vest on Oct 23 and not under WARN have last day of Oct 23.
OP is competing with younger hungrier H1Bs; yes, age discrimination is obvious at Oracle and across the industry

Just load up the data in your severance package into Claude or chat. Ask for a chart age title. Et cetera. The evidence is overwhelming. Yes there's clear discrimination in ageism.
@OP I think most of us that were planning to retire were riffed instead. Hard to say if she was ever a factor.
That's new. Age related stuff wasn't present when I went down this chute a few years ago, although there seemed to be age discrimination going on.
