Now I realize I should have checked this board before I joined, but too late now. I'm just wondering, how often do layoffs take place? I can see that it's a few times a year at least but is it every six months, every quarter, or something else?

@aq Say this very same thing to your family and ask them to rely on your statement..
Things will SHARPLY turn against you, when you are out, please explain this to your family counting on your wisdom.
Layoffs will continue because they need financial engineering, since they can't achieve revenue or margin growth.
I’ve followed my own advice, and honestly, I have zero issues with this company. 😂
I just come here every now and then to make sure you weirdos know that, yes, you’re still being weird, and maybe it’s time to move on.
Let’s be happy at Fiserv. We have great clients and customers, and we work alongside some pretty amazing colleagues across the company. There’s plenty to appreciate here.
Now, carry on. 😂
One of the companies that merged had layoffs immediately before Thanksgiving. The Other had layoffs in March.
We have had a bit of both since the merger. But it is always time for a little bit of laying people off.
Your job search is still warm. I would keep looking with the rest of the employees. You can say that your current role is not a good fit so you are looking for an employer who can help you grow.
So then you yourself are a self-admitted "angry and miserable" person.
Because here you are, posting with the rest of us.
Except in your case, you're not just "angry and miserable"...you're a troll, too.
Thanks for confirming!
I would say every quarter. If you can learn fast and become valuable. You should be fine in a sense. But I have seen essential people let go and then hired back pretty fast. Kind of shows they aren't really looking into the logistics of who they are firing.
@a3 I'd follow your own advice.
They do enjoy a good RIF in Sept/Oct to shore up the Q4 numbers and another in February before employee shares vest.
@OP STAY OFF THIS BOARD. It's nothing but a bunch of angry and miserable people here. Just focus on your role. Focus on creating experiences or products or processes that drive efficiency and value for your clients, internal and external. You will have a sense of pride unmatched to the miserable people on this site.
