Bonus after displacement?

The end of my displacement period is after September 30. As I understand it, I am "eligible" for my bonus. There is nothing in the severance agreement regarding bonuses and I'm told I need to discuss any potential bonus with my manager. Ideally, this information would be in the agreement I'm signing. I'm wondering if anyone has received a bonus in a situation like this or if anyone knows if WF is open to changing the agreement.

@b9 As a manager, I completely agree. The bonus pool is very limited. Those dollars will be spent on existing team members to keep them motivated. Stripping out dollars for someone already cut is not a good use of limited funds.

If a displaced employee gets anything, it will be minimal and symbolic. Bit it's likely no dollars will be allocated at all.

Correct. People talking about SEP 30 obviously haven't read the 2026 version of the policy.

You may be eligible for a bonus but you aren't getting one. So your manager would have to take money out of their bonus budget to give to somebody who isn't going to be here and then it would have to survive all the leaders above them leaving it and not raking it back in the multiple levels of reviews they do. Even if your manager would give it to you I guarantee you one of their leaders would take it back.

@a8 you mean for all employees? No, this is just false info.

Sorry I said that wrong. If you are displaced, you must receive notice of displacement ON or AFTER Sept 30th to be eligible for a bonus.

Per the 2026 bonus plan, you must be either employed or still serving your 60 day notice period as of Sept 30th of 2026 to be eligible for the annual bonus. If your notice period is up before then, not eligible for bonus.

@a8 The max bonus is a function of your rating. If you are rated IM or less, HR has strict guidelines that you bonus needs to be cut vs previous year.

No bonus, the plan was updated for 2026. You have to be an employee on the award payment date. Without given/received notice of termination.

My displacement period ends in October. During the layoff call, when asked about the bonus, the executive did not provide an answer. Given the lack of a response, it seems to clearly imply that there will be no bonus.

Is it spelled out somewhere that the max bonus is 70% of last year’s? Is extremely profitable Wells Fargo planning to retain enough employees to keep things running and the lights on while providing a 70% of prior year’s bonus?

@a4 I suppose I should have noted that if you're rated IM or lower I believe the minimum bonus allowed by HR is zero. To reiterate, because the bonus pool a fixed number divided across employees, most managers are not going to give bonuses to displacements because it means less for the remaining employees.

Bonuses cannot be entered into work day till December when the budget for those bonuses comes out.

By the time the interface and task is ready and work day to enter bonuses I don't think your name will even be in the system.

If your name is still in the system for a manager to enter a bonus, most managers are going to set it to the minimum guidelines by HR so that the rest of the team gets more. The bonus pool among is a fixed number divided across employees, so the fewer employees it's distributed to the bigger the each one gets. Displacements will not be a priority for getting bonuses.

Bottom line I would expect zero bonus, with a very slim chance you'll get the minimum allowed by HR, which is 70 % of last year's bonus.
