@a4 ok, my manager from the US who cancelled our regular 1-on-1 series of meeting is from the US and was laid off this morning (disappeared from Slack).
thus, he either knew just about me and Canada is not processed yet, as I am still here
or he somehow knew about himself mid of Sunday and for some reason decided to clean up calendar
the suspense... I guess will be waiting for signs when Canada is supposed to be hit. I hear it has to be call, not just email, and with my manager gone I guess I will be looking for invite from his boss.

They set the precedence with the last layoff by using email. It is a much more efficient way to do mass layoffs.
Do you really want to sit through an awkward meeting with your manager and someone from HR? I would rather get an email that has all of the details that I wouldn't have written down during a face to face meeting. Just get it over with...
@a3 Do you really believe what you read on the internet... that is a scary thought? Most of the people on these posts are not intentionally lying they are just guessing and sharing speculation since no one knows for sure. There are also plenty of people who are lying their a$$ off just for entertainment.

Is everyone just lying? The other thread has people saying email caused bad press so it's a 1:1 meeting on Monday. Now I'm suspicious if it'll even happen.
