@pj Just curious how you know it's 100% self-funded. Because even if all they did was use the corporate jet to get there, that's still ridiculous in this climate. And frankly, even if it is 100% self-funded, there are plenty of opportunities to honor 9/11 in an inclusive way with the workforce vs. this boondoggle C-Suite only BS.

100% self funded every year with the sole purpose to honor those lost from 9-11 - led by someone who just truly cares for others hoping to make a difference using their own time .. so sad to see this bitterness and desire to create lies.

The optics of this are unbelievable. I can only imagine that Lyons is shaking his head and saying to his execs what are we doing here? By any verifiable metric this institution has been failing to provide shareholder growth and maximum profitability and we are expending resources for this? It must end now! At least I hope that’s what he saying in the C suite.

Chief Bootlicker Steve will be all over this, sending sweaty, shirtless selfies from the summit. Meanwhile, the tech platforms will continue to implode and have outages because he is hyper fixated on his pet AI projects. @b8. The so called senior leaders to include a mortgage sales manager who does nothing but run a torch all over the country and climb mountains who is paid big big bucks! The theme at Truist is carry a big title and do nothing.

Nothing boosts morale like forcing (some, but not all) teammates to RTO while sending pics of c-suite leadership on a paid hiking trip to CA. Can someone please explain this to me? I'm just a minion so I don't understand how this is supposed to motivate me???

If they can't run a bank how are they going to manage camping after taking the corporate jet to get there. A couple of things come to mind aside from the endless waste of money:

Are they pitching / sharing tents?
Are they traveling with security handlers?
Are they actually going do any work like hauling their packs, cooking and cleaning up the campsite after they leave?

My guess is same as the office..., delegate, blame it on someone else and stay at the lodge and get their nails done.

We are buying our own pens and post its notes in our area. Morale is so low, we have started to dig. And a manager cancels a call for this afternoon because he and his buddies are climbing rocks on the company’s dime???

Sounds better than the catered getaway trainings at the Truist Academy. Had one where it was a cry fest and lots of senior leaders were encouraged to let out all their anxiety and trauma. Was bizarre and couldn’t see the value add and was all on company dime. At least fresh air will raise the morale of our leaders and help them see the path forward to more rif’s and methods they can use to run off top producers. I salute them.
