@g0 wouldn’t say it’s an upgrade. Being done by the cheapest contractor with little long haul experience. Being ran by the same inexperienced people. Such a shame it’s going to be a huge flop.

It’s failing. Old network. Trying to upgrade it with inexperienced telco people that don’t have a clue about long haul! Mismanaged. It will crumble in 2 -3years after not meeting commitments. No standards just lay it in the ground and get the cheapest contractor to get it. No integrity. It’s going to be a cr-ppy network. Such a shame!
Why do Networking Technical Specialist get paid more than every other outside technician?
Our long haul fibers after being installed into Ai data centers as we speak. The long haul network is getting a huge upgrade these coming years.
T will be a wireless and internet provider for Consumer line business only in very short order! There is not ANY innovation coming out of here in a loooooong time and we are not a part of the AI infrastructure taking over the planet. T has cowed to the innovators and will now assume their ankle grabbing position going forward!

I'm still here, one of the the few Leg-T lifers, sitting in a fiber hut taking lunch, waiting for a VTP that I won't get.
They still exist are the only outside field techs that are happy with job security. They will probably be the last technicians still standing if the company ever offloaded residential and small business. If ATT would go back to being a backbone services company.
I think they’re the networking department.
It's part of the general US network org.
