How did people fare on Wednesday? Were there layoffs?

It's coming. Not as big as February, but still impactful. Managers with impacted employees will have a meeting on Monday with instructions to notify their employees on Wednesday.

@3kp Have to blame someone (hence need for new VP of Talent) for Hiring the wrong people that now need terminating..

@317 I heard of some layoffs already, but not sure if anything more official will come at the end of the month

Has anyone going to be impacted been notified? I see some new ‘Open to Work’ in LinkedIn.

Sabre has long used regular layoffs at quarter transitions to "game" the numbers of cost savings etc for investors, a lazy approach instead of managing an organization well and being truly profitable IMO.

@OP ...Sept 30th? it's believable. The last severance check for those laid-off back in February gets sent this week (for the ones that got 6 months). I guess Sabre is going to use that extra cash for another round of severance payments. Good luck everyone!

It looks like Brazil is ramping up now. It looks like Somalia and the Sabre Learing Center are not far fetched.

Makes sense. There is additional cost savings by doing it before the merit increase.

@mc where can Sabre find cheap people next? I hear Papua New Guinea is cheap. Or maybe Somalia, it's cheap and centrally located.

Yeah… make no mistake… KRK is the new high-cost center and BLR is the de facto HDQ.

This is really sad. I gave 7 years to Sabre as a Manager with a great team at the time. COVID hit hard and they just can't seem to get it together.

is this HQ or company wide??

And BLR becomes HDQ...oh wait that happened 10 years ago...
