Wondering if they'll pay PTO if we live in States where it's mandated? Anyone has thoughts, experience, or comments on this?

Yes. All states rhay mandate PTO payout ylubwoll be paid out. If your state has no law to cover this then you will not.
@ag Just as an FYI — Texas doesn’t have the same payout laws as California. In CA, unused vacation/PTO has to be paid out because it’s legally treated as earned wages. Texas is different: employers only have to pay out unused vacation or PTO if their written policy says they will. So if you didn't get your vacation paid out, it’s probably because your company policy doesn’t require it.
In Texas, they did not pay me accumulated vacation pay when I quit.
@OP A state mandate is the law. A multi‑billion‑dollar company isn’t stupid enough to openly break employment regulations. Google your state employment laws - if you're in CA your PTO will most definitely be paid out.

I was laid off in May of this year and live in a mandated state, they did pay out my remaining PTO

You can google the states that pay out PTO. I am in California and it’s paid out 🤞🏻
If it is state mandated, yes. If it is left to the company to decide, who knows.
