Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

Hmmm the media is reporting that w’re laying off 700 people. But that’s not the whole story / that 700 layoffs is only for Upstream, Downstream and Technology. There will be more layoffs for organizations like legal, P&C, corporate affairs, IT, etc. I wonder how deep those cuts will be.

@dw not everyone in solutions or projects got the email. The actual % reduction mentioned might be very different in bpSolutions.

Has everyone in bpS got the at risk email yesterday in UK? If not, how does it work given bp solutions won’t exist and that they should be considering all central roles ?

@av Agree. If a role doesn’t directly support operations, it needs to be reconsidered.

Hopefully vast majority are useless Britts in obscure support roles.

They should only keep 20% of group leaders
