I work in what was previously Model e, I can tell you I am confident we are not having cuts anytime soon. We're very busy and our work matters to the company's bottom line.

@cn Ford can simply threaten their families if they steal tech you stole from them.

"you will be mine! or ill threaten ur family! marry me!!!"

@c1 Well wouldn't it be a better idea to steal it from the company we stole it from? I mean we tend to make things worse.

@ay correct. Farley and Kumar have been signaling this. The repeated casually dropped remarks in meetings and to the press about how Mexico and Asian country’s have better quality processes. The standing up of mirror engineering, marketing, finance, IT organizations in low cost countries. The mirror org Initially purported to provide follow the sun support, that narrative shifted with Mexico as it has the same time zones as US.

Don’t forget that years ago Farley made the statement that in 5 years 85% of the white collar work force would be in low cost countries. The LL3-LL5 tried to walk that statement back as guess what, the top talent who could leave Ford heard that immediately found another employer.

Now the mirror organizations in the US are being serially shutdown.

Shame on you if you didn’t believe Farley when he stated 85% of the white collar workforce would be in LLC.

@ay Is it called outsourcing when you’re replaced by an H1B

@OP. Cuts are happening, but in handfuls. My area is being outsourced, but not all teams are getting the pink slip at the same time. Blue badges received two options: retire or layoffs. So everyone is scrambling trying to find another position in the company, and some are looking outside. Even managers. Everyone else (PS, Agencies) is getting the boot...

It seems the company's plan in the next years is moving to Asia and Latin America, leaving the HQ and some blue collars jobs in NA.
