Is EchoStar really doing a Just Kidding, Come Back tactic to some?
Did they finally realize that what they did pretty much caused disaster recovery to have to happen?
Of invited back, would you come back? If you refuse, would they take away severance?
Everyone, stop being so critical of your previous or current coworkers. They are not the ones at fault here. Everything that was done, was done to ALL of us. We all suffered through corporate decisions that made the workplace increasingly more hostile. Do you really think those who are left are relishing it? They each have a sword of Damocles hovering over their head.
@he they agree to come back because they can’t get a job anywhere else. No relevant or employable skills.
@hd Those Directors and Sr Directors must be losers to agree to come back .. unless they can further bring their engineers back..

@gg I am also surprised with some of the names i hear of the ppl who have bee n called out - they are not core to sustain the operations and nor they are the best amongst the lot .. so there is something weird going on....

Yes some folks were called back. Not sure which groups and who and on what basis. Good for them though
some people who were laid off had their name completely removed from teams, some are still showing up as green/yellow who were earlier laid off, not sure whats happening

@bt, exactly. This was only done to avoid the negative affects of a WARN filing prior to bankruptcy or sale.
btw, Hughes is not providing any severance. Anything provided to laid off people are mandatory by law.
@a8 yes ; they are also suggesting some to come back as contractors through HSC or other vendors
If this is true, it's a very cruel game they're playing. They'd be stringing people along, using us to preserve the value of the company for whose gain?
@OP if they are then that would be a massive disaster and the worst decision yet...
Where did they send the invite to? Personal Email?
unless the tech/ops people are invited back, this is going to be a disaster
