Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

BYOD+ NATIONAL INVESTIGATION - HOW MANY PEOPLE GOT FIRED?

I WAS FIRED AFTER 15+ YEARS OF SERVICE- HAD A CALL IN MAY THEN IN EARLY JULY WAS FIRED WITH OTHER IN THE STORE - MANAGER? STILL HAS A JOB - THEN NOT EVEN A WEEK LATER THEY TURNED OUR STORE ALONG WITH MANY INTO A RESELLER... THIS WAS DONE ON PURPOSE/PLANNED TO GET RID OF OLDER EMPLOYEES ACROSS THE BOARD INCLUDING SOME DM's - I'M SEEING A LAWYER BECAUSE I WAS WRONGFULLY TERMINATED ALONG WITH MANY - THIS WAS JUST ANOTHER LAY OFF METHOD FOR MANY - VERIZON SAYS 7 CUSTOMERS DETERMIND MY FATE OF BEING FIRE BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T UNDERTSAND THE BYOD+ OUT OF THE MANY YEARS OF HELPING CUSTOMERS - TRUST ME WHEN I SAY IN A ROOM THERE WAS A CONVO ABOUT CUTTING EMPLOYEES AND THIS WAS JUST A EASY WAY FOR VERIZON TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM A WELLS FARGO LIKE LAWSUIT - FOR TWO YEARS WE COULD DO BYOD+ ON DPP AND SAME DEVICES BUT AFTER JAN 2026 THEY CHANGED THAT...AND OUR MANAGEMENT TEAM DIDNT EVEN TELL US!!!

You were working in a very gray area the entire time. 3 wins rule: was it a win for the customer, you and the company? If any of them are NO. Then you were lucky to stay as long as you did.

the OP just got burned bad.

fired for misconduct. no unemployment. no lawsuit bc fired for misconduct which verizon can easily prove.

when applying for new job, he will automatically be listed as No Rehire Eligibility which is a big red flag.

ouch.

karma is a biaaaaaaoooooch... when u slam accounts u pay for it.

@OP+1kymn763g When they actually fired you for this what did they say it was for ? I’m guessing a manager sat you down and gave you the details of the termination then walked you out ? Also what was the call in May about ? Did the call in May lead you to believe you may be terminated ? There is so much here that doesnt add up. Like someone else said every rep in the store did the byod same day device activations why wasnt everyone termed ?

There must be some type of discrimination going on because pretty much everyone in the retail stores would be fired. Why the sacrificial lambs ? Why is Verizon keeping the terminations under wraps? To terminate right before the reseller conversion and not get that severance offer is wild. All tenured and aged employees are all in the “que” to be let go its just a matter of time.

I was fired as well after 8 years working with verizon, we had some other in our store as well and same no managers were fired either. I'm looking to get a lawyer as well 2 said they won't take my claim but still calling more. it's weird everyone i talked to that has been fired for this has been with Verizon for ore than 6+ years, it's almost like in a room verizon leadership said how can we do another round of layoff with it not being called a layoff. you know that was talked about and then 2 weeks later after me and my other collage were fired our store was told it will be a reseller too and it was just a conference call not even face to face, verizon is the worst company to work for and to have service with.

you cant sue for this. unless there was discrimination based off age, gender, race, etc... a protected class.

verizon strategy in getting rid of you although unfair it is lawful. you violated company policy.
