For those who don't get laid off they will increase your workload to mentally break you into quitting.
Life is not permanent and so are the jobs, getting sick is the fact of life and recuperation (get better, pivot, get certified…) … get another job is fact also. No one should get judgmental about sickness… you just got the flu for the lack of immunization (lick your boss’s whatever 😄)

@b6 what jobs on GNT are being listed in the US that aren’t either cyber security or ai related? Surely no RF or SP engineers or construction.
@as not sure what group you're in but in GN&T travel is certainly not banned, jobs are being posted, and there are absolutely zero rumblings at the AD level of any RIF. There was ample heads up the last big one although the actual selections were made by the VPs.
@OP I'm going to say it....STOP BEING LAZY AND READ!!!! There are numerous threads with details after details. NO ONE can confirm with absolute 100% certainty that there will be a riff at 8am on May 7th. If you really that worried, then find another company to work for now, don't wait.
Similar scripts and coding have been run recently for workday similar to those in November and in prior months/ years. Is VZ gearing up for a layoff based on this absolutely, but the date is the tough part. VP sending multiple thank you emails to our work group this week telling us how great we did and how our efforts matter is more of a red flag, because its not typical behavior from that VP. Also warn depending on the state has to be 30 or 60 days, so again early May makes sense to clean the books end of Q2. Also, travel and spending have been banned through June for band 6 and 7 which last time we did a freeze it led to November. So many warning signs are there, but again, the date is tough to say. I believe it to be 5/7, its been 6 months and the company has taken on billions more in debt. Only way to get more capital is to get leaner.
