Anyone have any information of the pre-sales department that someone posted would be created or if this is true? What teams would it be compiled of?

@e6 at the moment what I know of is sales and marketing. Huge restructuring of the sales teams across all BU's with the introduction of pre-sales and business developemnt roles. As @ap says they want all brands rolled into a single 'Cengage'. Just a shame that some of those brands are gold and some are trash. I actually feel lucky not to be one of the 'chosen' ones and having to sell across all BU's as a result - better off out of that mess in my opinion.

@ap They are trying to get rid of all of the different 'brands' and fold them all truly under Cengage (ie Nat Geo, ed2go, Gale, Milady, etc) and over to Cengage mgmt. The support for these brands have been completely gutted the last 18 months with a skeleton left. The core cengage managers have zero idea how to manage these lines of business. It's sad to see such strong brands get ruined with the Cengage name. Textbook HEd side has no clue how to manage these lines of businesses or how to sell anything that is not a "per seat" package or a textbook that changes their copyright every 3 years, which is a scam. Cengage has a very bad connotation with these groups of customers.

Would love to see sales directors and BE fired. Awful sycophants.

@ds can you speak to the trends of the layoffs in International? Certain roles? Sorry to hear it. I miss when the messaging of the "comings and goings" was more transparent.

I hate the anxiety associated with the whole process. They did the same thing last year on May 1 in Higher Ed. It su-ks.

International here - the layoffs have already happened - they just haven't made their big beautiful announcement yet. That's for the Town Hall and 'Kick Start to 2027' on Thursday. And what a kick it has been!

Can't comment on Domestic I'm afraid.

@c9 apparently portfolio assistant is being promoted to business operation analyst. Some people will get lucky temporarily.
