I was contacted by a recruiter trying to hire me for a contract position at Optum that would make less than me and sounds a lot like my job now. It’s a position with almost the same name but works with my both my Medicaid care plan and another. I’m always worried about layoffs but should I be super worried?

Oh and yes sounds like it. Look at x and the TikTok shop all the whistleblowers have been let go are talking all about what you were asking
OP- Had the same thing happen to me except it wasn’t for a contractor role…just an in-office role that paid ~3 dollars less per hour. FWIW, I am a fully remote employee.
Thisvis not surprising. In April they let the majority of the Provider Relations team go as they had a new team to take over which they hired new people for when they could have transferred the current employees to that team and saved time on training. They wanted to hire newbies for less pay and kept a small group of us to help out and we had so much work piled on us. Then recently they want us to help out in the call center which was done last year to the whole Provider Relations team to try and make them quit. It seems like its happening again.
Yes.
Yes you should be. That's exactly what is happening.
