@a3 Incorrect, TX will pay out full unemployment even if the received severance is checked. It is ultimately up to the employer whether or not they want to fight the claim.
States like NJ give a generous amount, nearly $900 per week.
States like FL give only $275 per week.

Depends on the state. NC can only get a severance is completed. Multiple hoops you need to go through!
Unemployment is run at the State level.
Some States have truly terrible max rates. Others it's pretty good.
Some States you can collect unemployment and severance at the same time. Others you have to wait until severance runs out.
I don't know of any States where severance disqualifies you from collecting unemployment, but many you simply have to wait until severance < unemployment.
@OP depends on the state. Cali yes - Texas will pay you until you get your severance money
