Are there any layoffs today? I have had counterparts from other banks ask if I was impacted by the US Bank layoffs today…
I have not heard anything about a layoff, so maybe it’s a rumor?

@ax Layoffs always seem to happen on the 3rd Wed of the month, mark your calendars.
For those in Technology, at least you didn't loose an awesome job. The new people in technology need to understand that this will happen to you also if you stay here. This is a horrible place to spend your working life. Management hates you and they can't wait to outsource or eliminate you. Technology Management's main goal is to make everyone completely miserable. Show any happiness, dedication, or pride and they will immediately extinguish it.
@gx working anywhere is getting harder. Not a ton of banks have remote jobs and the ones that do have 100s of applicants. It’s fine if you are in charlotte probably, but not all locations

@jh October used to be it but with ice queen GK in charge, people just got let go before Thanksgiving Holiday. GK knows how to give thanks to Lu----r by showing us the door.
Where are all the d-mbbells who said October was the last layoffs of the year?
Good people got let go, but they could work anywhere and one I talked to today from risk said he wanted this and has never been happier, gets to spend holidays with the fam and will have new job in January. With a lot of people who have talent, it’s like a game of chicken and USB is flinching at the wrong time, and it is costing them lots of money. How long before the severance packages get changed to be less positive for workers?

@by I am sorry to hear that. I was just thinking about that number myself, I believe my team 3 years ago was around 15 total and now we have 6.
Would be interesting to know how many people laid off 11/19 from USBank were remote workers who live outside of hub and were not given option to work to retain position and shift to hybrid.

I was laid off today. I asked and they said it was corporate wide, but didnt specify a number. My team of 10 a year ago is now a team of 4.

@aw for real, it's like we need to have a new sign of like how many days we made it without any layoffs. Just like the no accidents sign in factories.
Got to reset that countdown to zero now. Maybe if we're lucky tomorrow there won't be any. Just assume every day there will be some.
