Can somebody please explain to me why are people getting laid off already? I thought this was supposed to be one major round starting on Thursday, and I keep seeing mentions of this or that already being laid off - and I'm not talking about managers here. What's going on?

They may be international employees. Their timeline is different than the US.
To lay that many people off in one day is almost impossible. With that, it usually happens in waves. The final day will be Thursday.
My assumption is some leaders got their lists and think it's the best thing for their people to tell them right away.
