Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

VZ management is over staffed

It is crazy hearing about RIFs when we have so many executives and most people have no idea what they even do. CEO has a meeting, then the SVP has a meeting, then the VP, then the Sr director, etc. All just say the same things and ask what did you think about what the ceo said. If they want to cut costs start with upper and middle management.

Upside down pyramid. Way too many promotions and different layers of highly compensated positions were given out like hot cakes under Hans as he dropped the total employees down from 130,000 to 100,000 give or take via rifs and buyouts. Should be more responsibilities and more people that roll up to you at the higher levels, not spread out thinly under several of each high level type of managers. And so now the mid to lower level leaders should suffer and be impacted?

My Sr Director is a glorified admin assistant … just reads out lists and tries to justify their existence… they have no idea about the operational realities

A lot of management dead weight and a lot of union dead weight. Time to slash and burn
