My HR friends in FANG SEC and other tech cos are telling me that many QC HR people have contacted them looking for work. Is this an ominous sign or just standard for this profession?

Why need build, integration , tests teams in US sites ?

In name of build, integration , testing many saving their a##. They don't have any technical contribution but have big teams. Better to close such teams and move all work to low cost center. Save good technical people who can really save QCOM.

Layoffs in two stages

One before nxp acquisition and after (both are huge) . Third one to fine tune the business -small one.

What about the $1 billion?

Is there a way for Qualcomm to save the promised $1 billion without layoffs? I've been trying to figure this out, and unfortunately, the only thing that even comes close to the number includes a huge layoffs round. Am I wrong? Are there ways in which... — read more

Jealous of those who received voluntary layoffs notice

I would have been accepting that faster than you can say voluntary offer! There has been too much turmoil surrounding Qualcomm lately to think that it has a prosperous future. I might be wrong, but if I had a chance to find out from the outside, I... — read more

More drama

One thing is for sure with Qualcomm, it is never boring here. The saga of Apple Inc.’s war with Qualcomm Inc. over its lucrative use of patents has spilled into a U.K. court. But Qualcomm says their legal fight should stay firmly across the Atlantic... — read more

CE PM ?? Funny

CE team basically plays PM role. Why do they need CE PM again? We do not have PM in SD or China.

do we need so many program managers?

There are so many program managers who are just very highly paid administrative assistants to engineering managers. They only schedule meetings and take AIs during the meeting, Engineering leads can easily do these themselves. Program management... — read more
